Tropical stream squad beat Boabab Stream 4-1 in the innagrugral SAFA Mopani Farpost Tournament 2022 at Nkowankowa Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Farpost tournament is aimed at selecting best players that will represent Mopani region in the provincial showdown and could be further selected to form the team that would tour USA next year February.
Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo and Former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena were among dignitaries who graced the event.

SAFA MOPANI PRESIDENT VICENT RAMPHAGO AND DOCTOR KHUMALO AT SAFA MOPANI TOURNAMENT AT NKOWANKOWA STADIUM.
Tropical Stream (Greater Tzaneen) troops which was guided by Nkowankowa Barcelona mentor Peace Khoza, won 2-1 against Zebras (Greater Giyani)in their first game before they went on a 4-1demolishing mission in their final encounter against Baoabab Stream (Greater Letaba Municipality), who had edged Marula (BaPhalaborwa Municipality) 2-1, to earn their space on the final showdown.
Khoza, who was voted Coach of the tournament, was delighted by his charges and commended them for following the game plan.
“Firstly I want to thank my players for the performance that they gave, even the technical team I was working with Evans Shingange. We did a good job and I’m happy for the boys because some of them it might be the first time they have won the trophy or a gold medal but overall I’m happy.”

“Our plan was simple to catch them on the counter break. If you can check goal number one and the second we allowed them to start the play from the back and we knew that we will counter them and score,”
He further said
SAFA Mopani President Vicent Ramphago, was well satisfied with the proceedings and vowed to retain it next year.
“I am very delighted and the partnership with FarPost is opening other avenues for us and that we must make sure we organize our things on time and always they must be here to scout this raw talent,”

Kaizer Chiefs legend, Doctor “16V” Khumalo, called SAFA to revive grassroots football.
“I have been All the tournament that FarPost have been hosting in province. I have been in Venda and now in Nkowankowa because its very important to come to spot raw talent. from the look of things it seems like we not taking care of the youth, we are not doing what it supposed to be done. I would urge with SAFA to up their games in terms of development in the country,”
He said.
“Our national team is suffering, we seem to have forget grassroots football. If you look at the history, if you look at every player that played for our national teams they are coming from grassroots level.
The Farpost Tournament will be hosted next in Sekhukhune district.
