Advocate Mathole Motshekga’s lawyers have withdrawn from his case to stop the Modjadji Royal Family from appointing King-Elect Lekukela Modjadji as the next King of Balobedu. This follows a failed court interdict to halt the traditional installation of the King-Elect on Saturday.
The courts ruled in favour of the Modjadji Royal Family and the interdict consequently dismissed with costs.
Spokesperson of the Modjadji Royal Council Ronnie Moroatshehla declined to comment, but confirmed the Council is in consultation with their legal team, as the matter is sub judice.
The withdrawal comes only days before Mathole’s main application scheduled for the 10th of October, to oppose the King-Elect’s official coronation.
This is a developing story.
