Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa semi-finalist, Manani Botes

Thirty-four year-old Manani Botes from Tzaneen has made it to the Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa semi-finalist round. The glamorous event was hosted earlier this year in Sandton, Johannesburg.

“I was honestly overwhelmed and so excited to be part of this movement and believe that your dreams are valid only if you still believe in them.”

Manani is happily married and a proud mother to a baby boy. She is currently a Sales Manager at Mercurius Tzaneen.

“I was raised on a farm and completely loved the outdoor life, I could never change this for anything, not even the fanciest suburb or city in the world.”

Manani says the reason she decided to enter the pageant is because it represents pageantry in a different light.

“It’s not only about looks, but a platform where women from all walks of life get to relive their dreams and network.” — Manani.

According to the Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa, previously known as Mrs Global Earth South Africa, the new pageant that was created with the purpose of providing a platform for all representations of women in African society. It serves as a leadership platform for all African women to have a voice and utilise it for causes that impact our country.

“Looking back at the road I have travelled and where I stand currently, I see the impact I have had, that brought change in a lot of women’s lives. I strive hard to wake up every day and make women from all walks of life realise that no matter who you are, or where you come from, you are never too old to follow your dreams!”

Manani needs your vote to help her bring the crown home. All you need to do is download a scanning app and scan the QR code which will direct you to the Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa page.

Earlier this year Tzaneen was in jubilation when 23-year-old Ndavi Nokeri brought the much-coveted Miss SA crown home. Manani says as Ntombi ya Mutsonga, Ndavi’s win was her win as well. The Tsonga community continues to be marginalised and such initiatives help in addressing the injustice suffered by people from cultural minorities.

“I was ecstatic when Ndavi was crowned, and I too hope to bag another one for team Tzaneen. Miss SA 1994 auditioned for the regionals in Tzaneen, so who knows…maybe one day Tzaneen will be known as The City of Crowns,” said Manani jokingly.

The Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa finals will take place in December.
