The Premier of Limpopo, Stan Mathabatha extended his heartfelt congratulations to the talented artists from Limpopo who won at the recently held Metro FM Music Awards.
This prestigious event took place over the weekend of 06 May 2023 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga and honoured artists from various genres of music.
The Premier is particularly proud of Makhadzi who scooped the Best Female Artist Award, Pastor Lungi Ndala who won the Best Gospel Album Award and Musa Keys who won the Best Styled Artist. These artists have been influential aspects of the national cultural sphere, embodying the spirit of resilience and showcasing the good talent that Limpopo has come to be associated with.
According to Premier Mathabatha, the win on a national radio station that has over 6 million listeners shows that with great support, people from Limpopo will continue to mark their presence in national platforms. “This achievement is indeed a source of inspiration to the young ones, motivating them to become better artists and earn their rightful place in the national music industry,” Premier Mathabatha said.
Premier Mathabatha further stated that as a province, they recognise the importance of supporting artists and promoting positive values through the arts. As they have done with other artists and sportswomen, they aim to find ways to continue to encourage youth and other artists to work harder by organising a small event to congratulate these winners. This will provide a platform for them to showcase their talent and serve as recognition for the hard work and effort they put into their craft.
In conclusion, Premier Mathabatha extended once again his most sincere congratulations to Makhadzi, Pastor Lungi Ndala and Musa Keys for their outstanding achievement. “They have made Limpopo proud, and we hope that their success will inspire others to continue striving for excellence.”
