Venda Football Club head coach Joel Masutha is optimistic his highly talented  team will score goals and win games this season.

This after the Venda based side failed to win their three opening games of the National First Division league this season. Masutha said his charges performed well in all the three games but failed to convert their chances. “The performance of the team is not bad it’s just that not scoring is an issue. However I am optimistic we will score” he said.

“We have played only one game away this season against Upington and although we lost 2-1 but our performance was very good. We will win more games away this season” he added.

Masutha’s team drew their opening home games 1-1 against Pretoria Callies and 0-0 with JDR Stars this season. They are currently 13th on the league log standings with only two points from three games. Their next game will be against 12th placed Platinum City Rovers at home in Venda this coming Saturday afternoon.
