Coach Shakes Manyalla is back with Jozy United. The Bloemfontain born coach and ex-Mathaithai FC mentor returns after the departure of former coach Musa Nkondo who left at the end of the season to join ABC Motsepe league side Vondwe X1 Bullets.

Manyakalla was with the Jamela based side at the beginning of their last season league campaign but later left the club due to family challenges back home. His return was confirmed by team boss Joseph Machethe.

Machethe said they decided to bring back coach Shakes due to his knowledge of the club and the wealth of experience at his disposal. “We decided to bring back the coach because he knows the club very well, he knows our style and has lot of experience” he said.

Meanwhile coach Manyakalla likewise expressed his joy over his return to the club. The former Gezani Assernal and National First Division side City Sharks player has a good track record in coaching. He led ABC Motsepe league side Mathaithai FC to the last 16 of the Nedbank cup where they lost to Mamelodi Sundowns.

He also led two SAB league sides Mangaung City and Phivha Young Stars to a league championship respectively.

His coaching qualifications includes the South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) coaching certificate which qualifies him to develop structures and ideals for proper development of world class players within a team structure. He was instructed in the local football playing philosophy by the late former Director of football in South Africa, Ted Dumitru. With him at the helm  Jozy United could well achieve a last 32 Nedbank cup qualification and the desired promotion to the ABC Motsepe league.
