All excited marching two by two while taking pictures. The theme is “It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude.” It began in style and the SGB member Maffa Magashola gave the welcome message. In her message, she indicated that the class of 2023 accorded them the opportunity to dress all good just to celebrate them. She further commended the matric learners for looking gorgeous and highlighted that this beauty should be witnessed come January 2024 when the results are announced.

The president of Motsheudi Representative Council of Learners, Mmola Setshwantsho expressed his gratitude to the school management for allowing them the opportunity to bid their matric farewell in style. He further explained that this gesture goes beyond celebration but serves to motivate them to want to excel. She alluded that matriculants should always remember that the future is in their hands. He further stated that the results will be shining just like their matric dance dresses and suits.

The hall was glorified by the performance of a group called ‘Dior Gang’ founded by three learners who have been friends since 2015 Ngobeni Surprise as Pisten SA, Koketso Lelope as Lil Hope, and Rasebokola Naphtaly as Savage SA. Among the songs they performed was “Move at the Way” which got participants dancing nonstop.

The song was recorded in 2022 and was mastered by Master Calvin.

At that exciting moment the guest speaker Nthabiseng Maake, the founder and the CEO of Megaliotes Audit company and Megaliotes mentorship program, the co-founder of Comfort a Single Mother (CASM) NGO, ascended to the podium and based her motivation on the theme “Destiny Actualization and Purpose” She urged the matriculants to discover their purpose because purpose has the ability to eradicate poverty and unemployment.

She exists to unleash talents and purpose among the youth. Nthabiseng mentioned that matriculants should view education as information empowerment. They were also told that life is a system just like human body parts where the leg cannot function well without the hand. There are three important dresses according to Nthabi; Matric dance dress, Graduation gown, and wedding dress and they are worn in terms of priority.

She encouraged the matric candidates to put on the purpose dress before all these other dresses. She further said knowledge gives birth to understanding and that without Education common sense is compromised. Matriculants were encouraged to read books to gather knowledge. She wrapped her speech by quoting John 10: 10 from the Bible.

The Project Manager, grade 12 Principal S.T Seale concluded the speeches on the theme “Attitude and Mindset. He said attitude is how far one interacts with the world; it involves the conscious mind and it contributes 5% to people’s mind actions.

On the other hand, mindset refers to how one perceives the world around them, it involves the sub-conscious mind and contributes 95% to people’s mind action. Mindset is determined by attitude.

He encouraged matriculants by announcing that they got 81% pass in the preparatory examination and that they should not give up. “The work they’ve done throughout the year up until preparatory exams contribute 25% to the final mark,” said Mr. Seale.

He mentioned that the final examination contributes 75% towards the passing mark. Candidates were urged to identify areas they need to fix their minds on. There is no miracle to pass the examination, it comes through dedication. He told matriculants to revise independently through previous question papers and consult the subjects’ respective teachers.

The buffet opened and the queue formed quickly for the scrumptious food. After the meals, the dance floor was opened.
