New Baroka FC head coach Dan Malesela says his team is already showing the glimpses of a team that is going to get it right this season.
The former Nedbank Cup winner with TS Galaxy was reacting to his team’s first win of the season over struggling Venda FC whom they beat 1-0 away in Malamulele stadium last weekend.
Malesela more so said that his boys now understand where they are and what they must do to start winning games. “It was quite a difficult game because both teams were desperate for points but we said to the boys if we have to scrape for points let’s do that” he said. “The wind was blowing in our faces in the first half but it got easier in the second half. Credit must go to the boys for the hard work they are putting in. They understand where we are and what we must do to start winning matches” he added.
The creative mentor said they are hoping that the victory is the first of many to come. “The FIFA break gives us a chance to get the team right, to look at personnel, where we are lacking and where we need to beef up if we have to. If there are players available we will see because we need to have a bit of a backup for certain positions which we don’t have any. This will give us a chance to really work on the team but you can see that the glimpses are there of a team that is going to get it right” he concluded.
Baroka will be expected to get maximum points at home against rejuvenated Black Leopards in their next league game after the FIFA break.
