ABC Motsepe league side Winnerspark FC made their intentions of gaining promotion to the National First Division league this season very clear with the acquisition of the services of a highly qualified Abel Makhubele as their head coach.
This after the Modjadjiskloof based side has been struggling to find the right coach for the club since the pre-season began over a month ago. Makhubele is a highly qualified coach who qualified for a CAF A license with the likes of Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Mangoba Mngqithi and Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Kompela to name just a few.
The 49 year-old mentor also successfully obtained CAF PRO license which is equivalent to SAFA level three in 2011 and went on to do a German B license for three months in Germany in 2013.
Makhubele has also coached in the Premier Soccer League in 2011/12 season with the likes of coach Sunday Chidzambga at Black Leopards and Serame Letsoaka at Golden Arrows in 2016.
The highly rated mentor was also the provincial Under/19 coach in 2007-2013 and a SAFA coaching instructor in 2009-2011. In the ABC Motsepe league he missed promotion three times with two different sides.
In 2017 he took position one with The Dolphins but failed to win the playoffs and went on to miss promotion twice with Mikhado in 2019 and 2020. At Winnerspark he has been given a mandate of gaining promotion to the NFD. “There are no NFD teams in this area and so my mandate is to gain promotion to the NFD. Today (Wednesday) is my fourth day with the club and I think we must add at least five more quality players to strengthen the team” Makhubele said. Winnerspark ended last season in an unusual position five.
