The new Nkowankowa Continental head coach Oruel Sambo says loosing his two strikers William Bopape and Rocket Makgopa was a blow for the team.
The two lethal strikers recently left the ABC Motsepe league newbies for Polokwane City’s DDC side. Coach “Zero” as Sambo is affectionally known, said he was disappointed to have lost the two strikers because they were in his plans for this season.
“I am so disappointed about losing the two strikers. William was someone who could score goals at any given time. When I arrived at the club I wanted us to keep all the players but unfortunately it was beyond our control as a team” he said.
Sambo furthermore said they nevertheless still have four strikers who can do the job. He mentioned Former Winnerspark winger Vutshila “Chopa” Selowa, 18 years old Richard “CR” Rikhotso from Tzaneen town and Dumisani “Aguero” Masekgale from Mphakane village as possible replacements.
So far they played seven games without their two ex strikers and managed to score a total of 20 goals. They scored 16 goals against Hollywood bets league sides Flamingo 6-2, Mohlaba Naughty Boys 5-0 and Majomela Shooting stars 5-1. The Nkowankowa based side moreover managed to score four goals in their 1-0 and 3-2 loses against fellow ABC Motsepe league sides Mpheni Home Defenders and Giyani Happy Boys respectively and a solitary 1-0 victory over Maruleng Celtics last weekend.
National First Division side Venda FC beat them 1-0. William was their top goal scorer with 15 goals last season.
