A rejuvenated Winnerspark team was crowned winners of their own Tournament last Sunday.
They beat a tired looking Igwe Boys FC by a convincing 2-0 score in the finals to win a good R7500 first price at Bellevue grounds. The only two goals of the game were scored by their unstoppable Natal born striker Siya Hlabisa.
Siya received the ball on the left flank and beat the Igwe defender one on one to score a world class goal from the acute angle.
He completed his brace few minutes later when he scored with a brilliant header from a corner kick. Igwe also had their fair share of opportunities in the first half but failed to convert. They were however made to chase shadows throughout the first half especially in the midfield where star midfielder Kgothatso Rakgoale was operating.
The score was 2-0 at halftime. In the second half the tired looking Igwe Boys tried their best to find a consolation goal but the Winnerspark defence and their top goalkeeper Sthembiso Miya stopped them.
Winnerspark coach Abel Makhubele was not impressed with his team’s performance after the game. “A win is a win but we still have to work on a lot of things” he said.
