The legendary Matsena Giant Killers owner Alpheus Matsena says he can help last season Hollywood bets stream winners Josy United gain promotion to the ABC Motsepe League.

The Jamela based side won the Hollywood bets Baobab stream in two consecutive seasons since it was established about three years ago but failed to progress beyond the Champ of Champs playoff.

The closest they ever got to tasting promotion was in their first season when they lost 2-1 in the final of the Champ of Champs against eventual winners Tzaneen United.

Last season, they drew all their games in the playoffs and failed to book a place in the finals of the Champ of Champs held in Kgapane Stadium. Matsena said he knows exactly what the Jamela based side needs to do to gain promotion this time around.

“We drew 1-1 against them here at home, and I tell you they were no match for us. They were lucky my strikers did not honor the game that day. They beat us 4-0 in Jamela in the second round because we used young players, and our best players were not available. I have helped a local team gain promotion before, and I tell you I know how it is done, ” he said.

Josy United owner, Joseph Machethe could not stop laughing at hearing the news and said, “He is failing to promote his own team, and now he claims to have the skill to promote mine, its amusing.”

Matsena’s Giant Killers was one of the first teams in Mopani District to gain the National First Division status in the past. Earlier this year, he was reported to be planning to purchase ABC Motsepe League status.
