Maritzburg United experienced striker Judas Moseamedi has attributed his team’s recent good results to hard work.

The former Premier Soccer League side did not have a good start to the season and were losing games at the start of the season. They were at some stage tottering at the relegation zone. However the Pietermaritzburg based side returned from the December break a completely different side, winning important games and collecting maximum points.

Moseamed said its because of hard work.  “It’s mostly the hard work that we’ve been putting in since the resumption in January” he said. The 30 year-old experienced lanky striker from Makwibidung in Tzaneen area returned to the Team of Choice after a short spell in Tunisia where he played for El Gawafel Sportives de Gafsa in the Tunisian Ligue Professionalle 1.

His experience is without doubt an important addition to the team in their quest for a return to the elite league. They are currently in position seven with 32 points from 23 games. Should they continue with their convincing winning form, they will book a place in the PSL playoffs at the end of the season.

Victories in their last seven games will earn them 21 points more which when added to their current 32 will add-up to a maximum of 43 points. Should the inconsistent Orbit College, Baroka, Hungry Lions and JDR Stars who are above them with lesser margins slip, then Maritzburg could snatch a place in the playoffs.
