Josy United FC, a two-time participant in the Champ of Champs tournament, is expressing confidence in their prospects for this season’s playoff games at Lulekani Stadium.
The playoffs were delayed last week due to an appeal by Mariveni United, who are asserting that they are legitimate champions of their stream and should replace Mokgwathi United in the playoffs.
Six teams, including last season’s contenders Dzekula Sky Masters and Thlothlokwe Golden Syrup, will compete for a spot in the regional playoffs. The new teams include Mokgwathi United, Maruleng Score Hunters, and Phalaborwa Fast Eleven.
Joseph Machethe, the chairperson of Josy United, stated that his team is thoroughly prepared to make it to the provincial playoffs for the first time. He highlighted key players such as striker Chris “Erusmas” Selowa, Simon “Aaron” Maake, Nakampe “Pogba” Maake, and twins Lenox “Dludla” and Levice “Manxane” Chavalala.
New additions to the team include Permission Reseasala and Thabo Makhele, a striker from Bloemfontein. Machete is unwavering in his belief that their current team is the best they’ve ever had and confidently endorsed their goalkeeper, Chris “Chepezeze” Setabola, whom he regards as the best goalkeeper in the area.
According to the schedule, Josy United is positioned to compete in their first and second games against the losing and winning teams of the match between Dzekula Sky Masters and Mokgwathi United.
They will face the losing team in the last game of the first day of the playoffs and the winning team the following day in the first match of day two. If they win both games, they will have a strong chance of advancing to the semifinals and finals, which will take place on the same day.
