The South African Football Association Greater Letaba Youth Soccer tournament, which debuted last year to celebrate youth month, has returned and is now even bigger.
The tournament, initiated by SAFA regional president Vincent Ramphao, has expanded to include not only under 13 teams, but also under 15 and under 17 age groups. The tournament will kick off with the under 13 matches on Friday, May 14th, followed by the under 15 matches on Saturday, and concluding with the under 17 matches on Sunday.
Winners in each age group will be awarded a trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up will receive silver medals. Individual awards for player of the tournament, top goal scorer, and goalkeeper of the tournament will also be presented.
Kings Court Academy, last year’s champions, will not be defending their title this year. However, new teams such as Mamkhize FC, Mokwasele Young Killers, and Mighty Boys of Motsinoni will be making their first appearances in the tournament.
Additionally, Ramohlala Development and Mamkhize FC from Medingen will also be participating in this year’s Youth Day Soccer Tournament.
Mamkhize FC from Medingen will participate in the youth tournament for the first time this year.
