The South African Football Association (SAFA) in Mopani has announced the postponement of their CAF D license program, which was scheduled to take place this weekend.
The news was announced by Regional President Vincent Ramphao. The program will now take place on the 27th to 30th of June. The postponement gives more coaches in the region an opportunity to register for the course.
The coaching course is being held to ensure compliance with the new SAFA rules. These rules stipulate that only coaches with a CAF C license will be allowed to sit on the bench in the Hollywood bets men’s league and Hollywood bets women’s super league from the 2024/2025 season.
The rules also apply to the Premier Soccer League and National First Division teams where coaches are required to have a CAF A or B license to coach, while coaching in the ABC Motsepe League requires a minimum of a CAF C license.
Aspirant coaches must register for the five-day coaching course, with a registration fee of R1500 per coach for LFA and regional teams, while women coaches pay a lower amount of R1000. Coaches from non-Mopani teams pay R3000. To register, coaches must send their application forms, proof of payment, medical report, and a letter from their respective clubs to [email protected] or to [email protected].
