Bolobedu’s Mamkhize, Kholofelo Motseo

Kholofelo Motseo, a passionate co-owner of a youth soccer development team called Mamkhize FC in Medingen village, Bolobedu, is looking for sponsorship from local businesses.

The 40-year-old nurse by profession has been running the club with her husband, Selby Rabothata, without sponsorship since 2021. They adopted a team of young players from their village after being asked to do so by the previous owner, who was no longer able to continue with the team.

Inspired by the love of football and the need to combat gangsterism in their area, the couple took over the club and renamed it Mamkhize FC after Kholofelo’s role model, Shawn Mkhize, founder of Premier Soccer league side Royal AM.

The team caters to players under 11, 13, 15, and 17 years old and is an affiliate of the Frank Moloto Development League in Kgapane, who are affiliated with SAFA.

Despite their dedicated efforts, Kholofelo and her husband, Selby Rabothata, have been using their funds to run the club due to the lack of sponsorship since many of their players come from low-income backgrounds.

Kholofelo is appealing to local businesses for support, seeking sponsorship for essential soccer training equipment such as kits, balls, and boots. The last time they got a donation was about three years ago when Ria Ledwaba donated 10 balls for the boys.
