Lethabo Moloto’s two goals in both the first and second half secured a crucial 3-1 victory for Mantlakazi-based Sisters FC against Real Mighty of Mavalani in Mavalani Soccer ground last Sunday.
This triumph enabled them to maintain their second position in the Sasol Provincial Ladies Soccer League. Sisters FC needed this win to narrow the point gap between them and the league leaders, Sinthumule Kutama, and to widen the gap for third-placed Rodadau FC. Currently, Sinthumule leads the league with 31 points, followed by Sisters FC with 27, and Rodadau with 25 points.
Guided by coach Monica Mathonsi, Sisters FC displayed a strong start, seizing the initiative from the game’s outset. Striker Lethabo Moloto opened the scoring in the first half with a remarkable individual goal. Shortly afterward, the home team conceded an own goal due to the pressure from the attacking Sisters FC. Real Mighty managed to score a goal before the end of the first half, bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of Sisters.
During the second half, Lethabo Moloto sustained her outstanding performance and scored another exceptional goal through individual effort, sealing the game at 3-1 and securing Sisters FC’s second spot in the league standings.
