Mpho Miya, the attacking midfielder for Mpheni Defenders, has recently returned to the team following a temporary misunderstanding regarding his status with the club.
Initial reports indicated that Miya was among the 16 players released by the club at the start of the season. However, it has been clarified that Miya was never released by the team owner Sydwell Phuravhathu.
The confusion arose when Miya did not return in time for the preseason, resulting in his name being included in the list of released players by the club’s administration and on social media. Upon realizing the error, Miya promptly contacted Phuravhathu to request his clearance, and it was confirmed that he was never released.
As a result, Miya has resumed his position in the team and is preparing to participate in the upcoming Nedbank provincial semifinals at the University of Limpopo this Saturday.
