The Mayor Coucillor Tsheko Musolwa of Maruleng Local Municipality has made a significant impact in the life of Koko Mpyafe Selina Sebatane, a 64-year-old resident of Mahlomelong Village in Ga-Sekororo, and her 40-year-old son. After learning that they were living below the bread line, Mayor Musolwa spearheaded the construction of a modern RDP house for the family, which features two bedrooms, an inside bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and dining room.

This initiative demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to providing proper shelter to those in need and improving the lives of underprivileged constituents.

Mayor Musolwa emphasized that the family’s previous living situation required emergency intervention, highlighting the importance of such initiatives.

As mayor, Tsheko Musolwa has been actively working towards improving the lives of residents in Maruleng Local Municipality. He has been involved in various initiatives, including meetings with the South African Roads Agency to discuss infrastructure development .

The Maruleng Local Municipality has also developed a Spatial Development Framework, which aims to address the lack of services in rural villages and promote land ownership and development . Additionally, the municipality has reviewed its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) to assess progress towards its strategies and objectives.

These efforts demonstrate Mayor Musolwa’s dedication to enhancing service delivery and improving the quality of life for residents in Maruleng Local Municipality.
