FC Rellen’s owner Rellen Masipa and Josy United’s chairperson, Joseph Machethe, are in a fierce competition for the league championship this season.
Both owners of Hollywoodbets league clubs in SAFA Mopani’s Baobab stream have committed to competing fiercely for the championship. Masipa, has confidence in the team’s ability to end Josy United’s dominance.
He emphasized the recruitment of top-quality players from Gauteng and Free State Provinces to challenge Josy United. In response, Joseph Machethe dismissed Rellen’s assertions, stating that they are just empty claims that have never materialized. He confidently stated that Rellen has made similar claims in the past, yet Josy United has consistently emerged victorious.
Machethe firmly stated, “He said the same thing last season, yet we defeated them 3-1. No one can win that league as long as Josy is present.” Josy United has secured the league championship for three consecutive seasons but faced playoff stage setbacks, while FC Rellen only managed to secure the runners-up position last season.
FC Rellen’s strength will be tested this weekend in the HollywoodBets Nedbank Cup preliminary round, while Josy, who did not register for the Nedbank, will wait until the start of the league season to begin playing.
