Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leruma United head coach Mpho Maleka has attributed their recent victory to meticulous planning and the players’ discipline.
The team secured a significant win at home in Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, defeating Capetown Spurs, led by Ernest Middendorp, with a convincing 2-0 score.
This marked Leruma’s second win in six games, following a 1-0 victory over Venda FC in Venda during their fourth game of the season.
Maleka credited the team’s success to thorough planning and the players’ commitment to following instructions. He expressed that the team has made substantial progress in understanding his playing philosophy.
Additionally, he noted that he has never lost a game against a team coached by former Kaizer Chiefs mentor Ernest Middendorp since his PSL days at Marumo Gallants.
Following their recent victory, the NFD newcomers have risen to the 12th position on the league table, having accumulated six points from six games. They are closely followed by Kruger United and Pretoria Callies, who currently occupy the 13th and 14th positions with five points each.
Leruma United is scheduled to play against the in-form Casric Stars at home in Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium this weekend and aims to continue their winning streak. Casric Stars currently holds the fourth position with thirteen points from six games.
