The new head coach of Tzaneen United, Oruel Sambo has echoed the sentiments of many supporters who believe that Stream A of the ABC Motsepe League is more competitive than Stream B.

Having previously led Nkowankowa Continental in Stream B, Coach Sambo has identified several factors contributing to the disparity in quality between the two streams.

One primary factor is the calibre of players and coaching staff. Coach Sambo noted that teams in the more challenging Stream A invest significantly in acquiring experienced players, whereas many clubs in Stream B rely primarily on local talent.

He also highlighted the differences in coaching expertise, mentioning several prominent coaches such as Sello Chokoe of Munaca, Musa Nkhondo from Selwane White Vultures, Peace Khosa of Continental, and Owen Da Gama, who has recently joined Vondwe XI Bullets.

Furthermore, Sambo emphasized variations in match intensity, aggression, and player stamina. He observed, “In Stream B, players often feel capable of playing an additional match after completing their first game due to the lower level of competitive intensity.

In contrast, Stream A requires players to exert maximum effort, leading to significant fatigue after matches.”

Last season, Tzaneen United achieved success in Stream B, suffering only one loss. Currently, the team is in fifth place with four points from three matches, having recorded one victory, one draw, and one loss. The top teams in Stream A are Munaca and Mpheni Defenders, both of which are in first and second place, respectively, with seven points from two victories and one draw.

In Stream B, The Dolphins and Sunrise currently lead, each with nine points from three matches.

It appears that securing victories in Stream B may be less challenging than in Stream A, based on the current standings. Meanwhile, Tzaneen United is scheduled to face Bellevue Winnerspark in a double-header, which will also feature Nkowankowa Continental against Mpheni Defenders. The matches are set to commence at 13:00 and 15:00, respectively.
