Polokwane City DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) player Blessing Mahasha will be a key player to watch in the derby against Sekhukhune United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium this Sunday.
The former Jomo Cosmos ABC Motsepe League midfielder is expected to leverage his experience to bolster the team’s defence as an anchor man, while also creating scoring opportunities for the strikers with his precise passing.
Mahasha joined the struggling Polokwane City DDC side just a month ago from Jomo Cosmos and has already made a significant impact in the midfield.
Last weekend, the team narrowly lost 1-0 to the top-ranked Stellenbosch FC despite putting up a strong performance. Before his arrival, the team had been suffering heavy defeats.
The tough-tackling player expressed his enjoyment of playing in the DDC league, noting that it is more tactical compared to the ABC Motsepe League, where teams often focus on aggressive play to secure victories.
“The DDC league is more about developing players, and I enjoy it here,” he said. The game kicks off at 12:00 PM.
