The Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) has marked a significant milestone with the official opening of the state-of-the-art Bulamahlo Community Hall. Valued at R28 million, this impressive facility was officially opened on Thursday, during the Mayoral Imbizo held at Makhubidung Village.
Councillor Thabo Maunatlala, Portfolio Head of Finance, led the inauguration ceremony, expressing his pride in the new facility. He believes it will greatly benefit the Bulamahlo community, providing a multifunctional space for various community activities. The hall can accommodate up to 1,000 people, making it an ideal venue for events and gatherings.
One of the most notable aspects of this project is its impact on the local community. The construction of the hall created employment opportunities for 53 local workers through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
This initiative not only boosted the local economy but also provided valuable work experience for the community members involved.
The Bulamahlo Community Hall is strategically located near CN Phatudi Hospital and features advanced indoor sports facilities. This includes dedicated spaces for netball, basketball, and volleyball, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among residents.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of community members, who were eager to witness the official opening of this remarkable facility.
As the GTM continues to grow and develop, it’s clear that they’re committed to delivering high-quality services and infrastructure to their residents.
