The Munghana Lonene FM Xitsonga Music Awards Festival are back and bigger than ever.
This prestigious event, now in its 19th year, promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for music lovers.
The theme for this year’s awards is “Kurila Xinari,”this theme is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of the Xitsonga music community.
The event will take place at the Nkowankowa stadium for the third consecutive year, thanks to a three-year partnership between Munghana Lonene FM and the Greater Tzaneen Municipality. The festivities have already begun, with the radio station hosting activation events across the country.
This year’s lineup is a star-studded affair, featuring the likes of DJ Maphorisa, King Monada, Dr. Thomas Chauke, and Dr. Sunglen Chabalala, among many others. Last year’s big winners, Wayne and Tango, took home three awards, including Most Popular Song of the Year, Best House Award, and Best Producer of the Year for their hit song “Ahi tivaneni.” The Daniel Brothers also had a successful night, winning two awards for Best Xitsonga Duo/Group and Best Xitsonga Disco Award.
Tickets for the event are now available on Ticketpro, with general access priced at R200 and VIP access costing R400. The gates will open at 17:00, and the event will run late into the night.
