The newly promoted Bolobedu-based team, Thlothlokwe Golden Syrup, is planning significant changes to its squad for the second round of the ABC Motsepe League next year.
The team has been struggling since its promotion and currently sits at the bottom of the league table.
Their new coach, Moses “Pokker” Malatji, has acknowledged that the lack of experienced players has been a major factor in the team’s poor performance. As a result, he intends to register several experienced players when the transfer window opens in January and has already identified candidates who could enhance the team’s performance.
Malatji, who replaced coach Earnest Mamanyoha, has overseen two away games so far, both resulting in losses. “The primary issue is our lack of quality and experienced players. However, we have made arrangements to sign several experienced players when the transfer window opens in January,” he stated.
Before the league takes its break, Thlothlokwe will play their last game of the year against the formidable Mpheni Defenders this Saturday at the beautiful Mamanyoha Stadium.
This could potentially be the final game for some of the team’s inexperienced players. Nonetheless, Coach “Pokker” remains confident going into the match and aims to secure his first victory against last season’s champions.
He believes that his team has shown substantial improvement in their recent games and is optimistic about performing well at home against Mpheni this weekend. Kickoff is at 15:00, and entrance is free.
