The MEC for Education, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, made a significant contribution to the education sector on, by officially handing over a newly built school at M.R Mamaila Primary School in Mamaila-Mphotwane under Greater Letaba Municipality.

This milestone marked a continuation of the government’s efforts to provide facilities conducive to learning and teaching.

The event began with a walkabout of the school, where Ms Lerule-Ramakhanya and Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Councillor Dagma Mamanyoha, accompanied by municipal officials and stakeholders, visited learners in their classrooms and assessed the facilities. This tour provided an opportunity for engagement with educators and pupils, emphasizing the importance of a conducive learning environment.

In her address, Ms Lerule-Ramakhanya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quality education and rural school development. She stressed the importance of investing in modern infrastructure to enhance the learning experience for underprivileged children. The MEC also urged parents to take care of the school’s infrastructure.

Mayor Mamanyoha commended the Department of Education’s efforts and stressed the need for education to uplift and transform the communities. As part of the event top-performing pupils, received new school shoes and bags. Additionally, the Mayor handed over a new laptop to the school.

M.R Mamaila Primary School boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including administration blocks, seven classrooms, and ablution facilities, catering to its 434 learners.
