The Greater Tzaneen Municipality confirms that Mayor Gerson Molapisane is still in office.
The Greater Tzaneen Municipality has stepped forward to clear up confusion regarding its leadership. Despite recent rumours and political reports, the municipality confirms that Mayor Gerson Molapisane is still in office.
While there has been talk about decisions made by the ANC Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee, the municipality says these are party matters. Spokesperson Neville Ndlala explained that political deployments are handled by party structures, not by the local government itself.
As of now, Councillor Molapisane remains the officially elected mayor. He is continuing his daily work and fulfilling his duties as required by law.
New Changes in the Council
While the mayor’s position has not changed, there is a new face in the council. Odas Ngobeni was officially sworn in this week as a Proportional Representation (PR) Councillor. He takes over the seat left vacant by Tennyson Ngobeni, who resigned from the position last week.
Business as Usual
The municipality wants to assure residents that everything is running smoothly. The focus remains on providing services, maintaining good governance, and keeping the community stable.
The city leadership promised that if any official changes do happen in the future, they will inform the public through formal channels. For now, the message is clear: the doors are open and the work continues.
