ABC FC earned promotion to the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League after topping the Inter-Regional Playoffs mini-league at Malamulele Stadium.

The Vhembe region will have a strong presence in the 2026/27 Limpopo ABC Motsepe League Stream A season after increasing its representation to seven clubs.
The number grew after Venda-based ABC FC secured promotion to the provincial league alongside Polokwane outfit Phinnet City FC during the Inter-Regional Playoffs held at Malamulele Stadium last weekend.
Vhembe’s footprint was further strengthened after Goue Seuns FC acquired the ABC Motsepe League status of Polokwane-based Tubatse United. The club will now relocate to Ndzelele, where it will play its home matches at Rabali Stadium.
With the latest additions, Vhembe now boasts seven teams in Stream A: Black Leopards FC, Musina United FC, Mpheni Defenders FC, Mukondeni Young Chiefs, Vondwe XI Bullets, ABC FC and Goue Seuns FC.
The increased representation highlights Vhembe’s growing influence in Limpopo football and sets the stage for an exciting season, with several local derbies expected to draw large crowds.
The increased number of Vhembe clubs could also improve the region’s chances of producing a team capable of finally conquering the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, where Mpheni Defenders have fallen short in recent years. The arrival of Black Leopards, following the confirmation of their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League after losing their arbitration bid, further strengthens the competition in Stream A.
With Venda FC now the only Vhembe-based club competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the region’s seven ABC Motsepe League teams will be determined to restore Vhembe’s strong presence in professional football by earning promotion this season.
