The legendary Winnerspark FC who  were in their heydays known for playing quality football is now back to their glory days.

This was the reaction of their faithful supporters and team owner Robert Mokgola last weekend during the Macece Top 16 soccer tournament held at Rikhotso Dynamic ground.

The ABC Motsepe league side lost 4-2 to a tough Xihoko United side on penalties in the finals, however that was not what the fans remembered. They saw a rejuvenated Winnerspark team that had structure and was playing with sheer class.

They dominated all their games both in defence and attack with their monopoly of skill in all areas of the field. At some stage they displayed a remarkable intricate passing game characterized by individual skills and strong tactical awareness. They did so with passion, skill and confidence to the delight of their fans and soccer lovers in general. Credit to their newly appointed and highly qualified coach, Abel Makhubele.

The 49 year-old was hailed by fans and the hard to please team Director Robert Mokgola for restoring Winnerspark’s style of football. “Now we are playing better football. The coach is doing a good job with this team, I am impressed by the performance,” said Mokgola.

“All we need to do now is to bring more good strikers. We missed clear scoring opportunities in our games and it’s obvious that we need to get more strikers” he added. The coach himself was also happy with the progress of the players. “I just arrived in the team but I am already impressed by the response of the players so far. We will take one step at a time” he said.
