The on form Tzaneen United FC maintained their top of the table status in the ABC Motsepe league stream B with a 2-1 victory over The Dolphins FC at home in Nkowankowa stadium last weekend.
It was “lebapola’s” second consecutive victory in the league this season following their 3-0 triumph over bottom of the log Mighty FC in their opening game a week ago. The Tzaneen based side is now on six points and five goals from two games. They lead second placed Ditlou on goal average. The two top clubs meet each other on Friday at Groblersdal stadium in what is expected to be an entertaining contest. The winner between the two clubs will occupy top spot in their stream B log standing.
Meanwhile, in the stream A top of the table side Mpheni Defenders who ascended to the top of their stream last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Winnerspark travel to Giyani Xikokwana stadium for a pulsating affair with last season stream runners-up Giyani Happy Boys. The two sides have a score to settle against each other following their last season battle for a playoff spot which Mpheni emerged as winners. This season the Giyani based side who recently registered their first three points with a 1-0 victory against Musina United, had a slow start to the league losing 3-2 to Vondwe X1 Bullets at home in Xikokwana. They are in an unusual position five on the log with only three points from two games. A victory for Mpheni in this game will set them up for yet another victorious season while the Giyani based side need nothing less than a victory in this game to bounce back to the top of the table.
