The long awaited inter-departmental soccer league season started in earnest last week with a total of twelve Clubs from different governmental departments playing their very first game of the league season.
Favourites Department of Justice and Maake Tvet college recorded the best victories overall while Sadtu, DCS and DSD failed to record their first points of the season. The highly talented Maake Tvet College got off to a great start with a DCS 4-3 victory in the opening game while SAPS Zone (1) were beaten 3-2 by SADTU Justice Buthelezi in the second match. The third match saw department of justice Ritavi register the highest score of all the clubs with a 5-3 victory over DSD while SADTU Ritavi lost 1-0 to Public Works.
The game dubbed the battle of the hospitals between Dr CN Hospital and Letaba Hospital which ended in a one all stalemate was the only draw of all the games.
Department of Justice Ritavi are favourites to win the league.
