Former Tzaneen United head coach Peace Khosa and his former employer Dennus Mafologela have provided insight into the factors surrounding their recent parting.

The news of their separation surfaced on social media following Peace’s introduction as the new head coach for Nkowankowa Continental last weekend, which prompted surprise among Tzaneen supporters who had witnessed a successful season under Peace’s leadership.

Peace transitioned to Tzaneen United from Nkowankowa Continental in October last year, shortly after guiding the latter to the ABC Motsepe League. Despite leading the Maruleng-based club to the provincial playoffs in his first season, he expressed that interference from the management had impacted the team’s performance. Peace believes that the management’s involvement in team selection influenced the team’s results and voiced his disappointment regarding his initial goal to finish the league season undefeated, which he was unable to achieve due to management interference.

In response, Dennus Mafologela acknowledged the challenges the coach faced with certain members of the management but expressed surprise at his decision to leave. Mafologela confirmed the influence of the management on team selection but also noted that the coach had interpersonal issues with specific management members. Despite the separation, Mafologela extended his well wishes to Peace.

Peace has commenced preseason training with his new team and is looking ahead to the upcoming season with optimism.
