Jomo Cosmos boss Ephraim “Jomo Sono” believes local player, Blessing “Messie” Mahasha from Ga-kgapane township in Bolobedu has a potential to become as great a player as the likes of Sizwe Motaung and Lucky Mhlathe.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor who is famous for cultivating players of international quality such as Mark fish, Linda Buthelezi and Bolobedu based ex Bafana Bafana captain Andrew Rabutla is Blessing’s current coach at Jomo Cosmos senior team.

He promoted the 19 year old defensive midfielder from  their Under-23 side to the senior  team in March last year following their return from a two weeks successful tour in Dubai.

The on form Blessing had helped Cosmos U-23 team beat both the Dubai first division side Leo FC 2-1 and Dubai City FC U-23 5-0 respectively.

“”Blessing is a good player. Don’t be fooled by his short height and small body size, he tackles bigger players. With more experience he has the potential to be great like Sizwe Motaung and Lucky Mhlathe,” said Jomo.

“I am a patient man and I take my time when I build players. We are not in a hurry. We need two more years in the Second Division and then we will return straight to the Premier Soccer League.” he concluded.

Blessing joined Jomo Cosmos development team about six years ago from Tshepo Academy FC in Kgapane Township.
