In a move that will boost Thapelo Molomo’s chances to win the 18th edition of the prestigious Idols singing contest, the Limpopo provincial legislature sitting yesterday in Lebowakgomo called on the provinces over 6 million citizens to vote for the singing sensation who has been doing great so far.

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture under new MEC Nakedi Grace Sibanda-Kekana has been at it for a long time now, beating the drum for the province’s remaining contestant, to make it to the final and win it for the entertainment starved province.

With the endorsement of the provincial legislators and the executive council of Premier Mr Stanley Chupu Mathabatha, Molomo’s ratings will skyrocket and put him on a straight home run.

During yesterday special Limpopo Provincial Legislature sitting, member Mapula Anna Mokaba-Phukwana tabled a member statement before the august house for the endorsement and support of Molomo on the road to the Idols 18th finals. The member statement received a secondment by DA member Katlego Suzan Phala, an unusual turn of events in the highly divided legislature along political party lines.

Even the normally cankerous red beret brigade of the legislature and the usually staid lone member of the Freedom Front Plus Marcelle Frieda Maritz came to the party to support the musical sensation from Mokopane, Waterberg district, on his way to victory and glory.

In the follow up statement by MEC Sibanda-Kekana, she called on “the people of Limpopo to vote in their numbers for this native of Limpopo to be the Idols Season 18 winner.”

Kekana-Sibanda expressed optimism that Thapelo will bag this year’s much contested competition because of his suave skills and musical talent.

To vote for Thapelo Molomo you send 2 to 37400 on WhatsApp, SMS or on the Idols website.
