After Last weekend’s Nedbank Cup postponement due to SAFA registration system failure, SAFA Mopani President Vincent Ramphago is adamant that Nedbank Cup tournament won’t suffer another setback as they announce teams to participate.

Last weekend SAFA Mopani Secretary, Whip Mongwe notified teams owners and managers about the postponement caused by affiliation and registration process, which prompted the game to be rescheduled.

Despite the delay, 33 teams are confirmed to participate in this season’s Nedbank Cup and SAFA Mopani President, Vincent Ramphago is confident the tournament will run as planned.

“We had a problem with my My SAFA registration system as it crushed on Friday and it couldn’t print cards for the players and also some teams were slow in submitting their papers, however, with the registered teams the tournament will played as we planned. We can’t have those who are not serious about playing football to distract us,”

said Ramphago.

“We must have winners this coming weekend because next week its provincial playoffs. Let’s let the teams that are serious and want to play to play. You see in Vhembe they take their runner up to go and play they don’t do like us. What we want is that we give all these teams a chance to play,”

he further said.

The tournament which was first scheduled to kick off at the weekend of 8th and 9th October was postponed to play on the 15th October with the group winners scheduled to play the following day to determine the overall winner.

Segabeng Hotbeans team owner Pet Pilusa is confident that his team will go all the way to last 32 of the showpieces.

“We are prepared for the cup. Our pre-seasons preparations have been intense and our aim is to go all the way to the last 32. We have the strong team and our boys are confident, we got nothing to lose,” said the Topanama based team chairperson.

“We have young squad which is ready to challenge for everything. The only team to beat us is us. I have seen the boys, how they are motivated and the skills they have is unbelievable,” said Pilusa.
