Limpopo ABC Motsepe league might have to relegate five teams this season instead of the regular two.

This after two Limpopo sides Black Leopards and Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandela got relegated from the Motsepe Foundation Championship league last week. As a norm the provincial ABC Motsepe league demote one team from each of the two streams every season to create room for two newly promoted teams, however this time around things have changed.

Stream A, which houses mostly teams from Vhembe and Mopani districts, will have to relegate at least three teams to make way for the two relegated Vhembe sides and a newly promoted team from the SAB league.

Moreover, should Vhembe side Mpheni Home Defenders fail to win promotion to the National First Division SAFA will have no option but to relegate the fourth team from stream A to make way for the returning team.

So far only Phinnet is relegated from stream B and will be replaced by a newly promoted team from the SAB league.

Stream A Bottom of the log sides, Mikhado and Musina United have already been downgraded and will be replaced by a newly promoted team and Lidoda duvha respectively.

TTM meanwhile, will fill up the vacuum that will be left by log leaders Mpheni should they gain promotion.

However, if they, then third from bottom of the log Munaca will be demoted also to make way for the returning league champs.
