ABC Motsepe League Limpopo champions, Mpheni Home Defenders says they are aiming at winning their opening playoff game this afternoon with nothing less than a victory and three goals.
Speaking few hours prior to their opening encounter against Mlambo Royal Cubs of Mpumalanga this afternoon, Coach Amukelani “Jay Jay” Hlongwani said his side is more than ready to win their opening game. “Our aim is to register three points and three goals in our opening game. All our players are available and are injury free” he said.
Their opponents Cubs have already lost their opening game 2-0 to North West side Orbit TVET College. The game is scheduled to start at 15h30 at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.
The ABC Motsepe league playoffs for promotion started in earnest on the 6th of this month and will run until the 11th. Nine teams from the nine provinces are battling for promotion to the National First Division.
The top two champions from the two groups gain automatic promotion to the NFD and will take home a whopping R1 million first prize while runners up will get R500 000 cash.
