The absence of proper youth soccer development league in Bolobedu has for many years robbed young talented soccer players in the area of an opportunity for proper growth and participation in the national team selection.
Local development teams have in the past tried to close the vacuum by organising friendly and tournament games but were for obvious reasons unable to reach the desired level of proper player development.
However, a new league is now taking ground. It is called Greater Letaba Soccer Development League. The league will be an affiliate of the South African Football Association (SAFA) and will be made-up of Under 12, U-13, U-15, U-17 and ladies soccer teams from Kgapane Township to Madumeleng village.
It will start in earnest in August and will run until October this year. Some of the teams which are already part of the league are Tshepo Academy, Mashona, Ramohlala, Life Academy, King’s Court Academy and more.
