Mopani representative in the SAB inter-regional playoffs Nkowankowa Continental is on the verge of gaining promotion to the ABC Motsepe league.
This after they registered six valuable points last Saturday in their playoff games at Nkowankowa stadium. They beat Vembhe side Mukula Young Santos 1-0 in the opening game of the playoffs and also went on to beat hapless Waterburg side Sunrise by the same score-line in their second game.
Their third game on Sunday against controversial Capricorn side Lebash Academy was abondaned due to the conflict the latter had with yet another Capricorn side Mohlabile United.
The two Capricorn sides were battling over their region’s championship status and launched a seat-in protest in the pitch which unfortunately resulted in the entire playoffs games being suspended by SAFA disciplinary committee.
According to SAFA Provincial Secretary, Refiloe Khosa they decided to suspend the games as a safety precaution measure. The two Capricorn sides Lebash and Mohlabile were also permanently suspended from taking part in the playoffs. Continental who are currently second on the log on equal points with Waterburg side Sunrise need only one point to gain promotion and to be crowned champions. The date for the continuation of the playoffs still to be announced.
