Nkowankowa Continental were crowned Provincial Champions of the SAB during Inter-Regional Playoffs at Nkowankowa stadium on Saturday.
This following their goalless draw with Sekhukhune based KingBorn FC. The draw gave the Nkowankowa based side the much needed point to gain promotion to the ABC Motsepe League and to win the playoffs with seven points ahead of Waterburg’s Sunrise who were occupying top stop with only six points coming in to Saturday games.
The Waterburg side had already secured promotion to the ABC Motsepe league on account of superior goal difference.
Sekhukhune based side Kingborn who had a golden opportunity to snatch promotion with victories in their last two games on the day were instead held to a 2-2 draw by the Vembe side Mukula Young Santos.
They finished third with only two points while Young Santos finished bottom on the log with only a point in three games. Continental coach Peace Khoza was over the moon “I am very happy that we finally got promotion to the ABC Motsepe league. Obviously it was a team effort. Now we will play with bigger teams such as Dolphins and others” he said.
