The new look Nkowankowa Continental FC dropped two valuable points at home against Mighty FC in their third league game of the season last Friday.

The ABC Motsepe league newbies who came to the game with one loss and a draw from their previous two games was aiming for their first victory of the season, however it was not meant be.

They took the game to their opponents from the first whistle and created good scoring opportunities but failed to convert their chances.  Nevertheless their breakthrough finally came in the 40th minutes of the game via a brilliant header by Ndumiso Myeni whose goal gave them a 1-0 advantage towards halftime. However, their advantage was short-lived as Mighty, guided by their coach Johannes Rasesemola and their  experienced team boss Mighty Tlale who was shouting instructions from the grandstand, found their well-deserved equalizer in the last minute of the first-half to force the game to end with a one all draw at halftime.

Both clubs tried their best to find the winner in the second half but poor finishing led them down. The game ended with a one all draw to the disappointment of the new look Continental team who had about three players from their previous team.

They dropped from position six to seven on the log standing while Mighty moved one step up above bottom of the log Eleven Fast Tigers. Continental coach Uriel Sambo congratulated his players for giving their best and applying the tactics they had planned during the week.

However he also pointed to the lack of experienced players in the team as reason for his team’s failure to secure maximum points ” Ninety percent of our team were under 18 and 19 players, so lack of experience was a bigger problem. You can check at some stage we were missing the chances which we were supposed to score” he said.

Continental left back and Captain Tukollo Mabunda is one of the few last season players remaining in the club.
