Capetown City has secured the signature of Lefa “Toy” Aphane, beating out competition from Limpopo-based Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United.
The attacking midfielder from Tzaneen United impressed Capetown City’s coach Eric Tinkler and management during a trial last month. According to Tzaneen United owner Dennus Mafologela, “Toy” has already signed a pre-contract with Capetown City and is set to join the club on June 26.
This news was confirmed by “Toy’s” agent Vincent Kobola of Tripple M agency, who stated that both Tinkler and Capetown City owner John Comitis were impressed with the player.
It was also revealed that Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United had shown interest in signing the 22-year-old star player but ultimately lost out to Cape Town City.
