In a challenging ABC Motsepe League match at Musina Rugby Stadium on Saturday, a depleted Winnerspark team, now under new management, suffered a commanding 6-0 defeat to the formidable Musina United.

The absence of several key players, who reportedly departed the club due to financial issues, was felt acutely. Notably missing were standout players Madimetsa “Katsande” Ndlovu, Thapelo Mokgola, and the talented Kgothatso “Shebe” Rakgoale. Thapelo’s exit preceded the club’s sale, while “Shebe” recently signed with United Artist, another ABC Motsepe League team.

Musina United showcased their prowess, dominating the match from the start. They found the back of the net three times in the first half—two goals coming from set pieces and one from a well-placed cross. Winnerspark, struggling to find their footing, failed to mount a response against a disciplined Musina defense. The second half saw Musina capitalize further, adding three more goals to secure a decisive victory and valuable three points.

As it stands, Winnerspark finds itself precariously positioned fourth from the bottom in the league standings, boasting just 10 points from 11 games. They cling to a slim one-point lead over Maruleng Celtics and Black Leopards, who sit just below them. Meanwhile, Musina United sits comfortably in third place with 19 points from the same number of matches. If Winnerspark’s form does not improve, they risk facing the specter of relegation.
