Mmaphai Primary School in Ga-Maake, Tickeyline was abuzz with excitement on Wednesday, as pupils and educators welcomed a brand-new classroom, courtesy of Sunbake Tzaneen and the Greater Tzaneen Municipality , South African Youth Council (SAYC) Branch Executive Committee.
This generous donation, valued at R400,000, was part of a Back to School campaign aimed at tackling the pressing issue of overcrowding in schools.
SAYC Chairperson Jack Mawasha handed over the keys to the new classroom, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and private entities in providing essential facilities.
“Government alone cannot cope with the demand for basic facilities,” Mawasha noted. “We believe it’s crucial to assist wherever possible and direct our social investment to areas where it can make a real difference.”
Mawasha highlighted education as a key focus area, stressing its significance for the country’s future success. “We believe that education and youth development are vital for our nation’s progress,” he added.
