MEC for Education Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has officially handed over two newly built schools, Napsadi Secondary and Diphuti Primary, in Makgaung village within Maruleng Local Municipality on Monday.
This milestone event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mayor Tsheko Musolwa, Acting Executive Mayor Basani Shibambu, and various councillors. The two schools are expected to benefit over 1,500 learners, providing them with access to quality education and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The schools were also given laptops for administration purposes, school bags and shoes for disadvantaged pupils.
During his welcome address, Mayor Musolwa emphasized that these schools will help alleviate overcrowding and resource shortages, allowing children to learn in a conducive environment. MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya urged the community to take ownership of the schools and protect the furniture and property from vandalism and theft.
The handover of the schools also comes a week after Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba also presided the handing over of two newly built schools Dikgalaopeng Primary and Mpelegeng Primary Schools in the Sekhukhune District where the Premier was joined by MEC for Education Ms Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya and Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Minah Bahula last week Tuesday.
The infrastructure project marks a significant milestone in the government’s commitment towards improving the quality of education and providing a better learning environment at the foundation phase.
