Majeje High School’s netball team has brought pride to Limpopo province after securing second position and walking away with R200,000 at the prestigious Kay Motsepe Schools Netball Championships.
The tournament, which took place from August 14 to 16, 2025, at Konka in Magaliesburg, North West, saw the team represent Limpopo at the national level.
The team’s success is all the more remarkable given all the more sweet support they received from Leolo Community Trust, which donated tracksuits, tekkies, and bags ahead of the tournament. The trust, representing tribal authorities including Makhushane, Maseke, Selwane, Mashishimale, and Majeje, played a significant role in boosting the team’s morale and preparedness.
Despite falling short of a trip to Singapore, the team’s silver medal is a shining reflection of their tireless efforts and commitment. The R200,000 prize money will go a long way in improving the school’s netball facilities, ensuring that the sport continues to grow with better kits and logistics in the future.
The team’s achievement is not just a victory for Majeje High School but also for the entire Limpopo province. As the school looks to the future, the focus will be on building on this success and nurturing young talent to reach even greater heights in the sport.
