Despite suffering back-to-back defeats, Nkowankowa Continental head coach Peace Khosa remains confident that his youthful side will soon find their rhythm in the ABC Motsepe League.

Continental went down 5–2 to Mpheni Defenders in the Nedbank Cup preliminary round two weeks ago before succumbing to Tzaneen United in league action last weekend. The defeats have tested the resolve of Khosa’s team, but the coach insists there are positive signs as his players continue to adapt to the intensity of the competition.

“It’s a learning curve,” Khosa said. “Some of our boys are coming from the Hollywoodbets League, but I’m sure we’ll improve in our upcoming games. Just one win will bring confidence to the boys, and then they’ll be unstoppable.”

The Nkowankowa-based outfit has placed strong emphasis on youth development this season, with the majority of the squad made up of players under the age of 23.

“We are using mostly U23s — we only have four senior players,” Khosa added. “There were a few areas we lacked against Mpheni and Tzaneen, but we are working on them to become a better side.”

Continental will travel this Friday to face a dangerous The Dolphins side in what promises to be a tough encounter. Still, Khosa remains optimistic that his team will rise to the challenge.

“We will try to improve from last week’s performance,” he said.

With youthful energy and a determined spirit at the core of the squad, Nkowankowa Continental will be hoping to turn the corner and register their first win of the season — a result that could spark the confidence Khosa believes will make his side “unstoppable.”
