Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League outfit Josy United are back in familiar territory after being reinstated to the Baobab Stream, a division they once dominated for three straight seasons.
The club spent last season in the Molototsi Stream, where they struggled to adapt and failed to mount a serious title challenge, citing intimidation from opposition supporters during away fixtures as a major setback.
This Saturday, Josy United kick off their new campaign at home when they host AC Milan at the Jamela Sports Ground. The match is scheduled for 15h00.
Club owner Joseph Machethe says the team is eager to pick up where they left off before last season’s detour.
“We are ready to continue where we left off the season before last. Our aim is to win the stream again, even though we have a new squad of mostly under-20 players,” he said.
Only four players from the previous senior team were retained for the new season, but Machethe remains optimistic, insisting the youthful side has gained valuable experience.
“These young players know the league. They played last season, so they understand the demands,” he added.
The Baobab Stream is expected to be competitive once again. Defending champions Pipa Young Stars remain strong contenders, while FC Rellen, now guided by former Pipa coach and last season’s league winner Isaac “Wacko” Senyolo, will also be pushing for top honours.
Other challengers include Ramaroka Super Aces and Mphehli Real Rovers, who finished on top four bracket last season and will be looking to improve on that performance.
For Josy United, the return to the Baobab Stream is more than just a relocation—it’s an opportunity to reclaim their status as one of the league’s most formidable sides. With home support behind them and a youthful squad hungry to prove itself, the club believes a fresh start could spark another period of dominance.
